Cultural shock is rarely experienced when someone is on holiday right to a new place. Yet the boss calls you to office and said, “Hi Bob, we are very pleased with your work. Now we want you to be our head office operations in Hong Kong!” You should be thinking about the implications that might occur and how you can avoid from the potential problems. Indeed, there is no way this is the only egregious but still serious problems could arise if you do not take preventive steps.

Cultural shock is clearly serious condition that requires special attention. There are people who suffer less sleep, the mood change and depression because of the shocking culture. Traveling to a new place with the customs and traditions that may lead to different trauma. Little research before leaving will be very helpful, but the most important thing is to leave your mind and heart open. Many people go to a new place without doing research and hope everything will run smoothly, oh, please don’t. Very important to understand the cultural, religious, and people in the place where you will go.

Here is some tips to avoid culutural shock :
1. Many expatriates or unsatisfied tourists give negative views about a country, although they continue to live there or come again. You do not need things like this after flying across half of the world. Go with open mind and make your own assessment about the place once you understand it.
2. It will be very helpful if you learn the local language before departure. If you show your interest in language and culture of other people and they will show interest in you.
3. Try to find out a little cost of living conditions in the country and the remuneration package offered to you. Will they provide hotel accommodation or you will be directly provided apartment or house? Will your housing allowance given to choose your accomodation? Etc.

Now, you’re ready to go. When you leave, it is important to feel comfortable. Once arrived at the destination, a place that feels with your senses, scented smell, all the sounds available. Take a walk one-way to two days to get a mystical experience of the new land that you have found. Once you begin to feel a little like home, join a club, and make friend with people outside your network, and are trying to meet with as many local people. Thus you will obtain a deeper understanding about your new place, and very probably you will appreciate more the cultural differences appear. Basically cultural shock arises from a lack of understanding, twitter excessive, and may be caused by things unimportant.
