Kidul Mountain is located in the row of the South Sewu Mountain in Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia. This area is consist of limestone hill and karst barren nature and lack of surface water. The middle of the basin is Wonosari (Wonosari Basin) that have undergone from processed of high tektonik. So there are reasonable that many people think Gunung Kidul is hot.
However, behind the presumption, the Gunung Kidul thus have a distinctive charm of rich natural attractions, from beaches to Karst. Named it like Kukup Beach, Gesing Beach, Ngobaran Beach, Krakal Beach, Sundak Beach, Along with Ngandong beach, Wediombo beach and the beautiful white sand, marine biota, and coral reefs. Where hundreds of kinds ornamental fish can be witnessed directly at the surface of calm sea water. Other potential like Baron Beach, Ngrenehan Beach, Siung Beach, Drini Beach, and Sadeng Beach which is the mainstay for fresh fish supply in the country, like Tuna, Kakap, Layur, Lobster, Cob, Ray, and Sharks.
According to Office of Tourism and Culture Gunung Kidul regency, beach tourism object accounted for around 95% of the tourism levy in Gunung Kidul. However, the beaches were not been taken seriously. Most of the coastal area of tourism that supporting the main facilities have not completed, such as electricity, public transportation, and coastal security.
From 15 area beaches in Gunung Kidul, only the Beach Baron and Kukup that electricity facilities have been equipped. Similarly, the public transportation only available to Baron, Kukup, and Drini.
